Here’s another update:

Well, again, Brad and I are grateful for the resources provided to us by the great Bryce Bandy.  He’s working with a website template that I’m not even smart enough to order, much less put together.  So, we’re really excited that the content for Spero is going to be presented in a professional, easy to navigate way.

We’re doing well on content and are excited about some future plans coming up after the launch.  But, we’re still needing some help with the calendar component.  If you know anyone that would have information, please ask them for us!  We know there’s stuff going on–fundraisers (for ministries, mission trips, or individual missionaries), awareness initiatives, guest speakers to churches, etc.  Anything with a global perspective that would be beneficial to educate some of us Jesus-followers.  Thanks for your help!!!

Isaiah 62

Isaiah 62

Zion’s Coming Salvation

1(A) For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,
(B) until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch.
2(C) The nations shall see your righteousness,
and all the kings your glory,
(D) and you shall be called by a new name
that the mouth of the LORD will give.
3You shall be(E) a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4(F) You shall no more be termed(G) Forsaken,[a]
and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,[b]
(H) but you shall be called(I) My Delight Is in Her,[c]
and your land Married;[d]
for the LORD delights in you,
and your land shall be married.
5For as a young man marries a young woman,
so(J) shall your sons marry you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
so(K) shall your God rejoice over you.

6On your walls, O Jerusalem,
I have set(L) watchmen;
all the day and all the night
they shall never be silent.
You who put the LORD in remembrance,
take no rest,
7and give him no rest
until he establishes Jerusalem
and makes it(M) a praise in the earth.
8The LORD has sworn(N) by his right hand
and by his mighty arm:
“I will not again give(O) your grain
to be food for your enemies,
(P) and foreigners shall not drink your wine
for which you have labored;
9but(Q) those who garner it shall eat it
and praise the LORD,
and those who gather it shall drink it
in the courts of my sanctuary.”[e]

10Go through, go through the gates;
(R) prepare the way for the people;
(S) build up, build up the highway;
clear it of stones;
(T) lift up a signal over the peoples.
11Behold, the LORD has proclaimed
to the end of the earth:
(U) Say to the daughter of Zion,
(V) “Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.”
12(W) And they shall be called The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the LORD;
(X) and you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.

War Against Women

Here‘s a really eye-opening video you might want to watch, but we would like to warn you to be prepared. We don’t suggest just watching it in passing as it will likely(hopefully) be very disturbing to you.

Let’s all pray for the women in this video, the other women in the area, and the men who are perpetuating it. Pray for the heroes on the ground trying to bring healing to women. Pray that the Lord brings His LIGHT to this region and that women are respected as people and are given basic human rights. And that the men’s hearts of stone turn to hearts of flesh and call on the Name of Jesus.

Thank you for joining with us.

Catholic Charities

Hey guys,

Catholic Charities just called and could use some help if any of you have non-traditional work hours or are at home during the day.  They have English classes on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 to 1:30 starting September 8th and need some people who are willing to help transport refugees to and from the classes.  If you are able and willing to help out, give us a call.   Brad  812–5595 or Kim 706-3354

Thanks!

The Ordinary Radicals

Well, we’re fans of Shane Claiborne here at Spero.  And this is an interesting new project that he’s working on. Check it out and see what you think.  Thanks for the tip, Chris Branson!
